The Kia Telluride was already a serial winner of various “Best Vehicle” awards. But the 2024 Kia Telluride gets some cosmetic tweaks that make this fantastic full-size SUV is now even better than it was previously. If you need a vehicle that can seat up to eight in considerable comfort that isn’t a minivan for getting around Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Huntsville, it’s hard to think of anything that comes anywhere close to the Telluride for the money.
If you like having plenty of trim-level choices when shopping for a new vehicle, you’ll love what you find when exploring the 2024 Kia Telluride. If you can think of a feature available for SUVs, you’ll probably find it in the new, expanded Telluride lineup. The 2024 model features plenty of the latest technology, increasingly sophisticated driver-assist systems, and aesthetic enhancements that include some black gloss exterior trim for X-Line and X-Pro models. The X-Line and X-Pro trim levels get you standard all-wheel drive, extra ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, a new mode for towing, and some cosmetic enhancements to accentuate the off-road capabilities and distinguish them from other models.
The 2024 lineup starts with the LX and then goes to the S, EX, EX X-Line, SX, SX X-Line, SX X-Pro, SX Prestige, SX Prestige X-Line, and range-topping SX Prestige X-Pro.
With a staggering ten trim levels to choose from in the 2024 Kia Telluride lineup, you might expect to need to take a deep breath before approaching the subject of powertrains. Perhaps surprisingly, every version of the latest Telluride gets exactly the same powertrain. With seating for up to eight people and plenty of room left over for cargo, the Telluride needs something suitable under the hood. And that’s exactly what it has.
Under the hood of every 2024 Telluride is a 3.8-liter V-6 that produces 291 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque, which gets sent to the front or all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Every model gets Drive Mode Select and Torque Vectoring Control, and every model is available with all-wheel-drive. The LS, S, EX, and SX trims are standard front-wheel-drive models, but the rest of the extensive lineup gets AWD as part of the standard specification.
Apart from getting into the tightest spaces in the parking lot, the 2024 Kia Telluride can do just about anything you want when properly configured. Most models are rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds, while the SX Pro and SX Prestige X-Pro models can handle an extra 500 pounds. There’s even a good level of off-road capability available if you need it, especially with X-Line and X-Pro variants.
The outside of the 2024 Kia Telluride looks better and even more rugged than ever, but the real treat awaits when you step inside. The interior is beautiful and well-proportioned, and up to eight people and a decent quantity of cargo can be comfortably accommodated. Even with all seats in place, you still have 21 cu.-ft. of cargo space behind them. Even the base SX models come with standard 18-inch alloys, LED lights, synthetic leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and loads of active safety tech.
The Telluride met with almost universal acclaim when launched a few years ago, but Kia has done the almost impossible by delivering a 2024 Kia Telluride even better than the original.
